Iñaki Permanyer has just gained an ERC Starting Grant (2014) for his proposal entitled Equalizing or disequalizing? Opposing socio-demographic determinants of the spatial distribution of welfare (EQUALIZE).
Iñaki Permanyer earned his BSc in Mathematics from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (1997), his diploma in Mathematics from the University of Lausanne (1998) and his PhD in Demography from the UAB (2007). He was hired at the Centre of Demographic Studies (CES, Barcelona) thanks to a Juan de la Cierva posdoctoral contract (2010 call). Then, in 2014 he got a Ramón y Cajal contract to continue his research at the CED on the following main fields:

- Human Development
- Gender inequality
- Social Indicators
